The majority of the states' economy went towards the production of sturdy and efficient war weaponaries used in combat. These provided for better results in war, however, the productions of such weaponaries were very costly. For example, WWI cost the United States on average $32 billion.  

Weapons were the major focus of the war as they are very important in combat. The better they are, the more victory is promised. As a result, most of the finances were focused on strong weapons. Wars, in general, cost a lot on a state, and can even leave some in dept.

World War I was one of the most expensive wars fought in history. It cost Germany an average of $37,775,000,000. Resulting in Europe's financial problems. It costs the United States an average of $32,000,000,000.

Due to men being drafted to war and leaving their jobs to fight, women were left to fill in for them and take over and work.
